Oil supermajor Shell is set to build its first wind farm on land in Europe, following an order for turbines from German manufacturer Nordex.

The OEM will supply and install 14 of its N131/3600 machines at the transitioning oil company’s 50.4MW Pottendijk Energiepark wind farm near the village of Nieuw-Weerdinge in the Dutch province of Drenthe.

The project will also encompass of a solar farm with an installed capacity of 50MW.
