The parliament of Frisia has approved that the Dutch province takes a €127m ($136m) stake in the 320MW Fryslân near-shore wind project in the artificial Ijsselmeer lake, freeing the way for a signing of a deal on May 15 and a construction start in 2019.

Fryslân wind park is slated to feature a cluster of 89 wind turbines in the Northern part of the Ijsselmeer lake, scheduled to feed into the grid for the first time in early 2021.
