The Gail Windpower Project would be spread over 12,000 acres (48sq km) in Manistee and Benzie counties, midway up the state’s Lower Peninsula, alongside Lake Michigan. The company says it intends to install “just over 100 turbines” with capacity of 1.8MW, suggesting a possible order for Vestas, which recently booked a 50-unit order for its V100-1.8 machine with John Deere Wind Energy for another Michigan project.
