Danish energy giant Orsted has been hit with a tax bill amounting to almost $1.1bn by authorities in Denmark for two UK offshore wind farms that had already been taxed in Britain.

The Danish Tax Agency said on Tuesday that the company has to pay DKr5.1bn ($825m) — plus interest amounting to DKr1.5bn — for taxes relating to the Walney Extension and Hornsea 1 projects in the tax years 2015 and 2016.
