The Danish utility confirms that Siemens will supply and install 89 of its 3.6MW turbines at the project, which will be built 80km north of the port of Emden, near Germany’s first offshore wind farm, Alpha Ventus.
Dong also holds the development rights to the neighbouring Borkum Riffgrund 2 zone, but has not yet given the green light for investment at that project.
