The Danish group – which has driven the development of the offshore sector in Europe and already established a US footprint – said the move will further expand its geographic reach.
The new presence will “explore offshore wind opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region” said CEO Henrik Poulsen.
Alongside local superpower China, the region contains nascent offshore wind markets such as South Korea, Japan and Taiwan itself, which is expected to see a quickening of its pace of development this year.
