The BR2 zone is split in two and effectively bookends Dong’s 320MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 (BR1) project in the German North Sea, which is due to enter construction in 2013.

Under the terms of the approval, handed down by Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency, BR2 must enter construction by 2015 at the latest.

Dong has not yet made any investment decisions for BR2, and has not committed to any construction timeline.
