Belgian contractor DEME Offshore has won a contract to lay 650km of inter-array cable for the first two phases of the UK’s giant 3.6GW Dogger Bank project, the world’s largest offshore wind farm under development.

DEME didn’t disclose the exact value of the contract, which encompasses engineering, procurement, construction and installation of 66kV subsea cables for a combined 2.4GW capacity, but said it was ‘substantial’, meaning it has a value of €150-€300m ($176-$355m).
