Just a month after announcing its first floating bid ever, offshore wind pacesetter Orsted made clear that it doesn’t expect the emerging technology to take off fast or outshine its bread-and-butter activity of bottom-fixed wind at sea any time soon.

“Realistically, by 2030, [floating wind] will still be a small part of our business. It is something we need to prepare for in due time,” chief executive Mads Nipper said in an earnings call.
