Trade unions accused the UK and Scottish governments of “a decade of failure” in securing offshore wind construction work for British yards after the two administrations jointly admitted they have no further avenues to support Scotland’s troubled Burntisland Fabrications (BiFab).

BiFab’s facilities in Fife and on the Isle of Lewis have become a symbol of discontent at the level of work on major components placed abroad for the UK’s world-leading offshore wind build-out.
