Denmark’s fleet generated a total of 14.1TWh last year, while gross consumption was 33.5TWh.

The record caps off an extraordinary decade of growth in Danish wind, which at the end of September 2015 passed 5GW of installed capacity – 1.27GW of it offshore – according to data from the country’s energy ministry.

In 2005, the share of power consumption was 18.7%, rising to 22% by 2010 and 30% by 2012.
