ConnectGen’s 504MW Rail Tie wind project in Wyoming has secured interconnection to a federal high-voltage electric transmission system, giving it market access to the fast-growing US desert southwest region, and allowing construction to begin in spring 2023.

“Connecting more renewable energy projects to the grid is a critical step in modernising America’s infrastructure and meeting our nation’s growing energy needs,” said Tracey LeBeau, CEO of Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), part of the Department of Energy (DoE).
