Intervenors in the siting case can ask the Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (EFSEC) to reconsider its decision on the Whistling Ridge Energy Project until late this month. After that, the recommendation is sent to Governor Christine Gregoire, who would have 60 days to review and either accept, reject or remand the decision to the EFSEC with modification instructions.
Jason Spadaro, president of SDS, a lumber company whose affiliates are developing Whistling Ridge and own the 1,152 acres of commercial timberlands where it would be built, says the EFSEC recommendation is positive because it determined that the project is in a worthwhile location.
