Electrification will be the most cost-effective way to drive Europe to its net zero emission targets, and wind power will lead that process, according to a joint report by WindEurope and the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Wind (ETIPWind).

With large investments in transmission grids and technology, the combined rate of direct and indirect electrification will reach 75% of Europe’s final energy demand – at no higher cost than our energy system costs today – the report ‘Getting fit for 55 and set for 2050 - Electrifying Europe with wind energy’ concluded.
