Finnish wind developer Suomen Hyötytuuli has widened the scope of a planned extension to the world’s first offshore wind array in near-Arctic conditions off Tahkoluoto island on the Finnish west coast, and is now eying an up-to 500MW subsidy-free project.

The company is in the permitting process for 40 to 45 turbines in a range from 11 to 20MW, communications manager Paula Grönlund told Recharge.
