Chinese wind turbine OEMs are “clearly a threat for European suppliers” and the latter have an unhealthy dependence on components from Asia, Ibrahim Özarslan, chief executive at Nordex’s Europe division, told Recharge.
“They are there, they are partly in Europe or just outside of Europe. On the onshore side, they are very active,” Özarslan said.
“Is it a threat? Yes, clearly, it is coming nearer and nearer," he said, adding that politicians and the EU should look more seriously at the issue.
