HZ Windpower will also provide $60m financing for the projects, Jimmy Centers, press spokesman for Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, tells Recharge.
HZ will manufacture the turbines in China, while reportedly contracting US firms to construct and maintain the facilities.
Centers says that the Branstad administration is hopeful that HZ will continue to invest in Iowa, where it installed its first two 2MW turbines in the US market in 2012 in Nevada, Iowa.
