When the long-awaited feed-in tariff (FIT) was introduced last year, the sector had hoped that this would be the moment when offshore wind really took off in China.

The FIT has stimulated plenty of activity: the National Energy Administration (NEA) has approved 2.65GW of offshore wind, of which nine projects totalling more than 1GW are under construction. A further 10.5GW of projects are in various stages of development.
