China’s breath-taking construction in 2021 of 16.9GW of sea-based wind plant – as much as the rest of the world has installed over the past five years – helped drive total sector capacity additions to almost 100GW globally, placing the Asia superpower at the top of both on- and offshore wind tables, according to latest calculations from Rethink Energy.
Build-out to 27GW off China last year, far eclipsing historical market-leader Britain, which added 1.15GW
