China eyes 12MW offshore wind turbine as Ming Yang partner unveils generator
Power systems group CRRC Yongji that has equipped OEM's previous mega-models takes wraps off latest design
Power systems group CRRC Yongji has unveiled China’s first 12MW permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) design in another move by the nation towards more powerful offshore wind turbines.
The Shanxi-based company, which launched the concept during China Wind Power event in Beijing, has been actively engaged in developing larger turbine generators in the past few years, first introducing a 7.5MW PMSG in 2018 then quickly launching a 10MW model a year later.
