Vestas corporate venture capital unit Vestas Ventures has taken a stake in S&L Access Systems, a subsidiary of Sweden’s Stena, which has developed a crane technology specifically for the installation of onshore wind turbines.

Vestas Ventures capital head Bo Svoldgaard explains to Recharge how the novel crane differs from conventional systems used in the onshore wind industry, and how it can make turbine installation cheaper and safer, especially at elevated heights above 200 metres.
