The new additions brought Canada’s total installed capacity to 3,319MW, and the country is poised to rocket past that figure in the coming years.
As of December, CanWEA counts 4.4 gigawatts of wind projects with a signed power purchase agreement and/or already under construction. Expected completion dates range from this year to 2015.
Ontario is the province with the greatest installed capacity (1,168MW) and looks poised to maintain its leadership position.
