Wind towers revenues increased 71.6% to $29.7m, though the segment still generated a slight operating loss. The company attributed it to competitive pricing and reduced productivity as it rolled out a new tower design for a customer.
The company’s shares dipped more than 8% to $0.47 during early-afternoon Friday trading on the NASDAQ.
Looking ahead, Illinois-based Broadwind sees a strong 2012, particularly for its wind tower business.
