Vestas hopes its customers – and turbine OEM competitors – will embrace what it claims is “gamechanger” technology to recycle wind blades that the Danish group is helping to commercialise.

“We definitely hope that, because that is what will drive down the cost and also secure the value chain,” Allan Korsgaard Poulsen, head of sustainability and advanced materials at Vestas Innovation and Concepts, told Recharge when asked if the novel technology could feature on blades used by rivals such as GE and Siemens Gamesa.
