Siemens Gamesa announced a debut deal for its SG 3.4-145 onshore turbine as the Indian wind power market gave another sign it is stirring to life after a dismal 2020.

The Spanish-German OEM will deliver 87 of the SG 3.4-145 model to a 301MW project in Hombal in the state of Karnataka, the company told the Madrid stock market.

The turbines are due for 2023 commissioning but no further details were given of the project, which marks the first for the model since it was unveiled in mid-2020 with a specific eye on the Indian market.
