Brazil’s Asa Branca project now plans to use GE Renewable Energy’s 12MW Haliade-X as it advances its long-running ambitions to become the country’s first major offshore wind farm, Recharge has learned.

Asa Branca – which was first proposed as long ago as the early 2000s – included the 60 GE machines in an updated 720MW design filed with national power regulator Aneel, replacing a previous version based around the MHI Vestas V164 9.5MW
