Brazil’s wind sector has proved its competitiveness and should expect little to change when when the newly-elected right-wing President Jair Bolsonaro is sworn in on 1 January, said the head of the local wind industry association.

“If the government decides not to support renewables or wind I will be curious to see what other technologies will be contracted, because there is nothing that produces power as cheaply, creates as many jobs and can be built as quickly,” ABEEólica’s CEO, Élbia Silva Gannoum, told Recharge.
