The four wind farms – Cerro Chato IV, V and VBI and Cerro dos Trindades – have a combined capacity of 54MW and are located in Brazil's southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul.
Furbished with Impsa machines, strong winds of 250km/h knocked down eight turbines across those facilities in December 2014.
Eletrosul said that it was carrying through studies on the issue with the insurance firm that is providing coverage for the wind farm.
