Oil giant BP has sold three Texas wind farms totalling 430MW to asset manager Ares as part of a restructuring of its US wind portfolio that will see it upgrading technology across its remaining 1GW of capacity.

Meanwhile, Ares Management Corporation has taken ownership of the 225MW Trinity Hills, 145MW Sherbino Mesa II and 60MW Silver Star projects and will repower them using Vestas turbines – replacing the existing Clipper machines.
