BOEM drafts RFI for Hawaii offshore wind sites

The BOEM-Hawaii task force includes officials from federal, state, local, and tribal governments. It met Wednesday in Honolulu.

BOEM, which oversees wind development on the US outer continental shelf beyond state territorial limits, is likely to issue the RFI later this year. After the RFI comment period closes, BOEM will determine if competitive interest exists in the two potential lease areas sought by AWE, a Danish firm.
