The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is working to advance an “inclusive and expeditious process” for identifying areas off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts for potential future offshore wind lease sales, according to director Amanda Lefton.

“We do anticipate moving as quickly as we can with appropriate stakeholder input in that process,” she said, specifically mentioning the highly prospective New York Bight region off the eastern seaboard and “Pacific [Ocean]”, where project developers there have shown interest in both California and Hawaii.
