Dong, based in Denmark, has not made financial details of the transaction public.
In January, the subsidiary of British developer RES submitted a winning bid of $281,285 to develop the 293sq mile (760sq km) tract in a competitive auction held by BOEM.
RES signed the lease on 23 March and it went into effect 1 April. BOEM approved the transfer of ownership on 12 June.
