Vestas took the wraps off the prototype nacelle for its flagship V236-15.0 MW as what will be the world’s most powerful wind turbine to enter service so far takes shape.

The nacelle, built at Vestas’ Lindø plant, will now be tested before joining the prototype’s other main components for first deployment at Denmark’s Østerild test site.

Vestas said the 15MW turbine “moves the boundaries of offshore wind forward”.
