The race to supply more offshore wind power to New York will see a line-up of global heavyweights as Orsted and Iberdrola-owned Avangrid confirmed they have joined Equinor in the state’s record-breaking procurement round.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) plans to secure as much as 2.5GW of offshore wind in its latest solicitation – the biggest yet by any US state – that closed on Tuesday.
