Nine US agencies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expedite federal siting, permitting, and construction of electric transmission infrastructure in recognition their failure to work together efficiently has impeded capacity expansion necessary to accelerate the country’s energy transition.
While the focus of this effort is largely onshore, it also includes potential facilitation of offshore transmission “independent of any generation project”.
