Belgium is looking to double its offshore wind capacity to 4.5GW by developing the western reaches of its limited exclusive economic zone in the North Sea near France, now that construction of the last of eight projects near its maritime boundary with the Netherlands is complete.
Switch-on of the 487MW SeaMade wind complex last autumn took Belgium’s total fleet –which is spread across eight wind farms – to 2.26GW,
