The team that launched US’ first commercial-scale offshore wind farm, the under-construction Vineyard Wind 1, has set up Vineyard Offshore, a Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) backed venture with 4GW of potential plant capacity, including acreage won in the New York Bight lease auction.

Vineyard Offshore emerges from the separation of the Vineyard Wind partnership of CIP and partner Avangrid Renewables – the American group controlled by Spanish utility Iberdrola – following their success in bringing the 800MW Vineyard Wind 1 off the coast of Massachusetts into construction.
