Offshore wind resource measurement specialist AXYS Technologies has deployed a WatchKeeper meteorological and oceanographic data buoy off Poland as part of developer Baltic Trade & Invest’s (BTI) environmental impact assessment for its 350MW FEW Baltic II wind power project.

The unit, equipped to collect data on wind speed and direction, air temperature, barometric pressure, solar radiation, directional waves, current speed and direction, conductivity, and water temperature in near real-time via satellite telemetry, is located 60km offshore in the Baltic Sea.

“Axys is proud to be supporting BTI with their environmental impact and assessment campaign with our metocean buoy system,” says Axys chief executive Terry Tarle.
