Australia declared itself open for business for offshore wind with the passage of crucial legislation paving the way for huge projects off its coasts.
The nation’s parliament on Thursday passed the long-awaited Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Bill, key to providing a regulatory basis for developments such as the 2.2GW Star of the South – set to be Australia’s first offshore wind farm – and a portfolio of fixed and floating developments planned by Oceanex Energy.
