The WindFloat Atlantic (WFA) floating wind farm — the first of its kind off continental Europe — is now fully operational in the Portuguese Atlantic and supplying energy to the country’s grid.

The 25MW project, led by the Windplus consortium made up European utilities EDP Renewables, Engie and Repsol and US technology developer Principle Power, will generate enough energy to supply the equivalent of 60,000 users per year, saving almost 1.1 million tonnes of CO2.
