Energy minister Juan José Aranguren said the 123 proposals received for the October tender amounted to far more than expected, as Argentina pursues a rapid diversification of energy supplies under president Mauricio Macri.
The government wants to contract 600MW of wind, 300MW of solar and 100MW of other renewables via the auction, which will be the first such process held in Argentina since the 1990s.
