AES Tietê, the local unit of US utility AES Corp., signed a 15-year wind power corporate PPA that will be delivered from the 167MW Tucano project, part of the group’s strategy to expand renewable energy supply in the non-regulated market in Brazil.
The offtaker will be Australian mining conglomerate Anglo-American, according to local reports.
Tucano is located in the Northeastern state of Bahia and is part of a 600MW project pipeline that AES has the option to buy in the region.
