Installation of the innovative anchoring system for the EU-backed €25m ($29.2m) FloatGen floating wind demonstrator, set to be switched on later this year, has been wrapped up at the SEM-REV project site off the west coast of France.

Completion of the six-line nylon mooring spread, laid by contractor Bourbon in 33 metres of water 22km offshore, comes as construction of the concrete floating foundation for the demonstration unit moves into the home stretch at Bouygues Travaux Publics' yard in Saint-Nazaire.
