AMSC, based in Massachusetts, expects to ship all of these systems to Inox in 2012. Inox turbines were designed by and licensed from AMSC in 2009.
The US firm describes ECS as an integrated, high-performance suite of power electronics systems that include the wind turbine power-converter cabinet, internal power supply and various controls.
Together, these systems enable reliable, high-performance operation by controlling power flows, regulating voltage, monitoring system performance, controlling the pitch of blades and yaw of the turbines to maximize efficiency.
