The deal follows closely on the heels of a supply agreement with XJ Group, another Chinese maker deploying a 2MW turbine.
In both cases, the doubly fed induction turbines were co-developed by the companies and AMSC’s Windtec subsidiary.
The SBW deal “is the largest initial electrical control system order that AMSC has received to date from any wind turbine customer”, the company says.
