Equinor and BP plan to use Vestas’ blockbuster new 15MW machine at their flagship Empire Wind 1 and 2 projects that are set to supply New York with renewable power – the largest wind turbines yet lined up for deployment in the US and Americas.
Vestas said the two European energy giants – which are developing Empire Wind under a 50/50 joint venture – signed a preferred supplier agreement for 138 turbines covering 2.1GW
