Alberta Innovates – Energy and Environment Solutions (AI-EES) issued a request for proposals seeking “technology solutions” with the greatest potential to offer economically viable bulk energy storage on Alberta’s interconnected electricity grid.

Proposals, which are due 29 January 2015, should focus on technologies such as high cycle life and storage capacity, high round-trip efficiency, low cost and scalability.

The agency will fund up to C$250,000 in cost-share for any approved project proposals that winning applicants must implement within two years.
