Work is underway at the consultancy's Fast Flow facility in Oxfordshire as part of a project to fine-tune the design of a novel three-legged suction bucket jacket (SBJ), to better deal with scour – a phenomenon where wave and current erodes the seabed under a foundation.
“The ability to have novel designs tested by physical modelling is crucial for development of our foundations," states Dong's lead oceanographic engineer, Andreas Roulund.
