The House of Commons Energy and Climate Change Committee (ECCC) said it launched the probe because “energy experts have told us that the government has spooked investors with a series of sudden energy policy changes announced over the summer without proper parliamentary scrutiny”.
Measures unveiled by the newly-elected Conservative government have included early removal of a support mechanism for larger onshore wind projects, cancelling of a key tax exemption and plans to slash feed-in tariffs for smaller PV schemes.
