Greg Hunt insisted the CEFC had not imposed a “blanket ban” on support for wind, and that although the body would have a focus on solar and geothermal technologies it might look at backing “emerging components…such as new turbines or offshore wind”.
The environment minister also told Australia’s ABC Radio that Turnbull’s government wants the renewables sector to “have confidence” over its role in the nation’s energy strategy, promising a “supportive environment”.
